South Branch Township is reviewing and updating its Master Plan

Your input is an important component of the master planning process. Our township is distributing a survey to gather your opinions about a variety of topics within the Township. The survey contains 26 questions, takes about 5-10 minutes to complete and is anonymous. The information gathered from this survey will be used to formulate new goals, objectives, and action items for the Master Plan.

The survey can be completed online by clicking the link below, or printed copies are available at the South Branch Township Hall. 

Deadline for completion of the survey is February 20, 2019.

Box 606 Roscommon, MI 48653, or in person at the Township Offices, located at 5245 N. M-18, Roscommon, MI.

Position Requirements & Expectations

Required:  Qualified applicants must be a resident of South Branch Township. Must be available to attend the specified regular meeting dates as well as any scheduled special meeting dates. Must be capable of reading, understanding, and interpreting, all regulations as set forth in the zoning ordinance to effectively apply equitable judgment to individual cases with unique circumstances. 

Preferred:  Qualified applicants should demonstrate effective communication skills, both verbal and written. ZBA members are expected to perform site visits in conjunction with many cases. Site visits may include walking on or through uneven and/or steep terrain, muddy or wet areas, sometimes on heavily wooded lots that have not yet been cleared for a building site. Ability to withstand the elements and environment to perform a basic visual inspection and walk-around of a property site is expected.

Are available here at the township office, beginning November 1st through the end of February yearly. Fees: spayed/neutered $8, without spayed/neutered $15. After March 1st, you must go to the County Offices. Please bring proof that your animal is spayed or neutered & a copy of your animal's rabies certificate; they must be presented to get a license.

For Applications made on or after March 1st, the fee is $25 and are only available at the Crawford County Offices located in downtown Grayling at the Courthouse. Please see the County Treasurer.
